This game is just like a relay race – but with rum! Reserved for players 18 and older, this exciting game divides guests into two teams. Pickleball Tournament

Pickleball is a fun sport that is a combination of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but it can definitely develop into a fast-paced and competitive game for more experienced players!

There are just five main rules:

1. The ball must stay inbounds.
2. There should be one bounce per side.
3. Serving must be done at a baseline.
4. The server can’t land in the no-volley zone.
5. The game ends at 11, 15, or 21 points.

If you’re new to pickleball, come along anyway! Players of all experience levels are more than welcome to join the tournament and just have fun.

Cat M. and her son make lifelong friends

“My first visit to Morritt’s in 2010 was one where I got a taste of the island, scuba diving, and made life-long friends. I KNEW it would be the first trip of many!

While visiting each year (leaving my son at home), I fell more and more in love with the island, resort, and friends I made from all around the world…enough so, that I brought my son WITH ME for his first visit in 2014.

Needless to say, when Morritt’s beaches are the first a child ever experiences in their life, you KNOW he will be hooked!!! And he was! I chose to purchase that year when I realized that the friends my son made and would make at Morritt’s and the experiences he would have over the years were memories I HAD to give him!

As my son has gotten older, he has helped in timing the vacations to ensure his lifelong friends will be on-island the same time we’re there. And my friends are both on-island and tourists, so I’m HOME with every visit.

For anyone thinking about visiting Morritt’s, imagine the most friendly people you’ve encountered in your life…they are the ones who will greet you on arrival and make your stay AMAZING! The accommodations, while gorgeous, pale in comparison to the customer service you will get at the resort!

Wishing all future guests and owners many happy “blue days”!”

Jenny L. takes up rooms for the whole family

“Magnificent Morritt’s is always where we want to be! The moment our eyes see the beautiful lavish Morritt’s Resort, there is wondrous knowledge of the glorious vacation that awaits!

For over 20 years, we have relished the serenity, tranquillity and immaculate resort and beach of Morritt’s.  All the buildings, pools and grounds are phenomenal and every detail is perfect.

We first purchased a one-bedroom unit when on an exchange and did not want to leave paradise. Now we own many two-bedroom units so our children and grandchildren will be able to cherish Morritt’s!

There are endless amenities for the energetic active person or if you prefer there is incredible quiet calming contentment on the beach also. We have met ultimately kind, gracious men and women at Morritt’s and they have become very special friends who we meet at Morritt’s every year.

Morritt’s radiates pure bliss, happiness and joy! Morritt’s Resort is the ONLY place in the whole wide world my husband will vacation – Morritt’s is absolutely the BEST!”

Loren G. and his wife relive their honeymoon year after year

“Our first experience with Morritt’s vacation club was on our honeymoon five years ago. My wife and I were gifted a week from her father and stepmother.

Grand Cayman is a place I had dreamed of going for many years, and we were also lucky enough to find the friendliest resort I have ever been to. Not only are the accommodations warm and inviting, the entire staff is dedicated to making your stay as amazing as possible.

We purchased a unit the same visit as our honeymoon, and we just recently purchased a unit in Mont-Tremblant. We cannot express how thankful we are to be a part of such an amazing organization.”

Angela G. dove over 100 times and is still logging

“My first trip to Grand Cayman and Morritt’s was in 2008 on an RCI exchange. Grand Cayman was recommended by another scuba diver who was an owner at Morritt’s. I decided to give it a shot. That first year it was in November.

As a diver, I quickly determined it was a place worth returning, which then turned in to returning again and again. Almost immediately I also fell in love with the resort and the East End.

It is 2020 and this will be my first year that I won’t get the chance to go. I have already booked 2021 and cannot wait to get back. I have been to Cayman in March, May, June, July, August, November, and December. Over the years, I have made friends with other guests (who we now sometimes return together) as well as friends on the island. I have unlimited Cayman memories created over the last decade; they make me smile, laugh, and remember the joy from each trip. I am always ready to plan the next trip.

Almost every trip I have spent time diving; logging more than 100 dives in Cayman over the years. The walls on the East End are amazing and the shallow dives have just as much character. As an underwater photographer I continue to enjoy capturing shots each trip. I fell in love with macro shots many years ago, so the shallow dives are probably my favorite for taking photos. The wall dives continue to impress. The local dive shops continue to take care of the ocean and their actions over many years tackling the lionfish population is part of why the diving continues to be top notch. I have logged more dives in Cayman than any other single location and am ready for my next dive trip.”

Scuba Diving at Morritt’s

The sea around the Cayman Islands is a paradise for divers and watersports enthusiasts, with crystal waters, fascinating wrecks and an amazing abundance of sea life. If you’re already a keen diver, or if you’d like to dip your toe in the water (literally), there are many options for you.

Red Sail Sports has a full-service dive and watersports centre at Morritt’s Tortuga Club operating under the name of Tortuga Divers. As well as a whole range of watersports and sailing activities, Tortuga Divers can also help you to train and get Scuba certified at various levels. Feel free to contact them for more information (1-877-506-6368 / info@tortugadivers.com), but in the meantime here’s a guide to what they offer.

Discover Scuba Course

This two-hour East End course teaches you how to dive in one day and discover the undersea world with an experienced instructor. You’ll start easily in a swimming pool and get confident with the theory – how to breathe! – before taking a dive off a shallow reef with all the necessary equipment. The dive will last around 30-40 minutes and goes to a maximum depth of 40 feet. If you fall in love with Scuba immediately, you can take a Repeat Resort Dive.

PADI eLearning Open Water Course

The advantage of the eLearning course is that you can save four days of your vacation time by studying before you arrive. Complete the theory and tests online and then use your time on Grand Cayman to learn master dive skills with one of our expert instructors over three days.

DAY ONE – Get to grips with the equipment and put theory into practice in a swimming pool (confined water).

DAY TWO – Take two shallow-water dives in the sea (open water) to reinforce your skills.

DAY THREE – Enjoy two more open-water dives to be certified by your instructor and given your temporary PADI open water certification card. You’ll then receive a personal certification card with photo and ID number by mail. This can then be used anywhere in the world!

Open Water Referral Course

The referral course is perfect for people who have already started Scuba certification back home and who want to complete their four open-water training dives in Grand Cayman with all equipment included. After a quick pool session to test underwater skills, you’ll complete the four ‘check-out’ dives over a two-day period. Then a Tortuga Divers instructor will sign your referral forms to verify completion. Courses are available for all the largest recognized diving agencies: PADI, NAUI, SSI, IDEA, PDIC, YMCA, and HSA.

PADI Advanced Open Water Course

Build on the open water course with new capabilities and new activities while increasing your confidence. No need to wait if you’ve discovered a new passion – you can go straight into this course after completing the PADI Open Water course (above). If thinking about this course prior to arriving on the island, you can save time by doing the PADI theory online.

When you arrive, you’ll do five dives over one full day and a half day: a deep dive, a navigation dive and three others to be decided with your instructor. These could include a night dive, a search-and-recovery dive or boat diving. This course includes equipment, boat dives and certification materials. Your PADI Open Water certification card must be presented upon enrollment.

Refresher Scuba Course

If you haven’t dived for two to six years, you may want to refresh your skills, knowledge or confidence before putting on the tanks again. This two-hour course starts in the pool to go over the basic dive theory and then moves to the sea for a shallow afternoon dive. Only previously certified divers may take this course.

If you’re already an experienced diver, Tortuga Divers operates boats to various dive sites such as
Anchor Point, High Rock Drop Off, Turtle Pass, Northern Lights, Snapper Hole, Chub Hole, Grouper Grotto and Black Rock Reef to name a few. Contact them for more details.

Please also note that all certification courses need to be pre-booked. All the PADI courses are eLearning, which means you complete the theory online prior to arriving.
